FEDERAL AND NIA INDEPENDENCE MESSAGES FOCUS ON CITIZENS

Acting Prime Minister Dr. Geoffrey Hanley focused his Independence Address on achievements made during 2026. The Acting Prime Minister commented on the commissioning of the Basseterre Desalination Plant, the pursuit of an island-wide well-water drilling program, progress in the geothermal energy development on Nevis, the adoption of the Sustainable Island State Agenda, as well as progress being made on the fronts of housing, agriculture and tourism.
