Dr. William Stones, who is a board member of the St. Kitts and Nevis Sailing Association, welcomed him and congratulated him on his second place. His coach, Nikhail Rogers gave an overview of his intense training and preparation and his progress throughout the meet, actually holding on to the second spot, right through to the end. He further indicated that the conditions in Portugal were a lot different from what he is accustomed to at home, so he had to acclimatize quickly and he adjusted well. Nikolas Dupre, President of the St. Kitts and Nevis Sailing Association noted that there are many more opportunities now available to young sailors and congratulated Walters on his huge achievement. Walters for his part, simply expressed ‘thank you’ to everyone.
