IMAGINA (the name of Grup Mediapro effective January 1, 2027) will provide extensive television coverage of the XX Pan American Games Lima 2027, which will take place from July 23 to August 8 of next year in the Peruvian capital.Santiago, Chile, October 27, 2027. - The Pan American Sports Organization, Panam Sports, has selected IMAGINA, through Medialuso, as the official host broadcaster for the XX Pan American Games Lima 2027.The agreement was signed this Monday at the Panam Sports offices in Santiago, Chile, in the presence of its President, Neven Ilic, and Medialuso representatives Francisco José de la Fuente and Gonzalo Pampin.
“Being selected by the Local Organizing Committee and Panam Sports to produce the international broadcast feed for Lima 2027 is a great responsibility. We will put all our experience, technical expertise, and talent to work for these Games, which belong to all of the Americas,” said Medialuso representative Francisco José de la Fuente.
For his part, Panam Sports President Neven Ilic expressed great satisfaction at once again having Imagina on board for the Americas’ premier sporting event: “We are well aware of Imagina’s professionalism, track record, and cutting-edge technology for broadcasting sporting events, which is why we are very pleased with the agreement we have signed. The Pan American Games are a world-class event, and what better way to have a great company like IMAGINA as the host broadcaster.”The Pan American Games are the continent’s most important multi-sport event; they will feature more than 6,900 athletes from 41 countries and are recognized as the primary qualifying competition for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games for athletes from the Americas.Following the successful 2019 Pan American Games, Lima and the Peruvian people are preparing to host this sporting celebration once again. Over the course of 17 days, the region’s top athletes will compete for glory in 38 sports and for direct qualification to the Olympic Games in more than 20 disciplines.
WORLD-CLASS BROADCASTINGThe confidence placed in the event by the Local Organizing Committee and Panam Sports will enable extensive coverage, designed to bring the excitement of every competition, every ceremony, and every story from the Games to millions of viewers. IMAGINA will produce the international feed and coordinate its distribution to television networks, streaming platforms, and rights holders throughout the Americas and other territories.The operation will combine resources deployed at the venues in Lima with an International Broadcast Center and remote production centers. The project will incorporate IP production, cloud-based tools, and artificial intelligence solutions, meeting the highest technical and editorial standards required for major international sporting events.
Coverage will include all sports and ceremonies, with enhanced production for the most significant disciplines and moments. The planned distribution includes the international distribution of six feeds via the main satellite system—including an integrated feed—and a minimum of fourteen daily feeds via SRT distribution, providing flexible and secure access to rights holders.
IMAGINA will bring accumulated experience in major international events to Lima 2027 and, in particular, its expertise from the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, the 2022 Mediterranean Games in Oran, the 2023 European Games in Poland, and the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago. This experience will be complemented by Peruvian talent, with the goal of leaving a lasting professional and technological legacy for the country’s audiovisual and sports industries.The appointment solidifies a partnership based on trust, excellence, and a shared ambition to deliver a production that lives up to the significance of Lima 2027.
