JAHZARA CLAXTON NAMED PLAYER OF THE SERIES AFTER WEST INDIES T20I SWEEP

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS: Kittitian all-rounder Jahzara Claxton has been officially named Player of the Series after an outstanding performance during the West Indies Women’s 3–0 T20I series sweep over Zimbabwe.

The 20-year-old was a consistent contributor with both bat and ball throughout the three-match series, helping the West Indies dominate their hosts in Harare.

Claxton opened the series with an impressive all-round performance in the first T20I, taking 2/16 before scoring an unbeaten 31 to help the West Indies chase down Zimbabwe’s 97 for nine. She was named Player of the Match.

In the second T20I, Claxton produced her best bowling figures of the series, claiming 3/14 as the West Indies secured an eight-wicket victory and took an unassailable 2–0 lead.

She saved another strong performance for the series finale on October 7, scoring 38 runs and taking 2/35 as the West Indies defeated Zimbabwe by eight wickets to complete the clean sweep.

Across the three matches, Claxton finished with 73 runs and seven wickets, underlining her value as an all-rounder and earning her the Player of the Series honour.

Her recognition adds another notable achievement to the international career of the young Kittitian, who continues to establish herself as an important member of the West Indies Women’s team.

Claxton’s success has also provided a major moment of pride for St. Kitts and Nevis, with the young cricketer once again putting her country’s name on the international stage.
