PATRIOTS CLINCH CRUCIAL TWO POINTS IN NAIL-BITER
After the disappointment of the rained-out fixture on Sunday night, the SKN Patriots finally gave their
staunch fans something to celebrate, when they defeated the Barbados Tridents in a nail biter, at Warner Park on Tuesday night.
Tridents batted first and on the back of a blistering century by Quinton De Cock and an equally blistering half century from Zachary Carter, roared to a healthy 217 from their 20 allotted overs. However, the Patriots’ openers, in Johnson Charles and Kyle Mayers featured in an electrifying century
opening stand, before they were parted. The Patriots kept up with the required run rate and it
came down to 22 runs required from the last two overs and then just four from the final over. The Spice man finished it in empathic fashion, with a six off the very first delivery. Summarized scores: Barbados Tridents 217 for 4: Quinton De Cock 108, Zachary Carter 57 Shah 2 for 43 SKN Patriots 220 for 4: Johnson Charles 78 Sams 2 for 40 Patriots won by 6 wickets
