The sad news has been received of the passing of former outstanding marathon runner on Nevis, Mansfield Roberts. It is understood that he passed away on Sunday 25th October. During the 1980’s a young Mansfield Roberts broke cross country records at the Gingerland Secondary School and soon dominated long distance races, island wide. He also represented Nevis at such races regionally. He made the long-distance races his own, by literally running the entire race nonstop, leading from the front and leaving his competitors in the dust. Condolences are extended to those left to grieve his loss.
